Chihuahua Rat Terrier Mix

From Rowan: Chino is a wonderful rescue dog who was saved the day before he was to be PTS by gas chamber. He is now a therapy dog and training to be a service/medical alert dog. According to a Wisdom Panel DNA test Chino has one purebred Rat Terrier parent (standard size) and one parent that is half Chihuahua and half mixed breed (couldn’t identify what was in the mix). He certainly has the prey drive of a typical terrier, and googlie eyes like a Chihuahua! He stands at 16″ at the shoulder and is 25lbs. He often gets compliments on his chocolate coloring and cute white paws (all 4!). Thankfully, he is not very “barky” and is about medium energy. His tail was apparently docked very short (about one vertebra past his bum!), so we like to call him “waggle stub dog” as he waggles it so furiously when he sees us! Chino is also fantastic with kids and other dogs! We love him to bits!
