Frazier the Anatolian Shepherd Boxer Mix

Anatolian Shepherd Boxer Mix picture

Boxer Anatolian Shepherd Mix

From Marsha: We got Frazier when he was one. He was a rescue dog from Tennessee and brought up and fostered in Wisconsin. He’s the happiest dog I have ever had. He’s extremely smart but not very obedient, very athletic and loves to play. He’s a great guard dog – very quiet and doesn’t make a sound when neighbor’s come home(I live in a condo) but will bark and growl if there’s a stranger in the parking lot.

He’s 86 pounds and very leggy. Loves to cuddle and will sit in your lap if you let him. He’s a very profuse shedder. He has the markings of a Boxer and the proportions of an Anatolian. Unfortunately because he’s a rescue, we don’t have any history on him. We do know he was at a shelter and they kept moving him back in line for euthanization because he was such a nice guy.

Beagle Shetland Sheepdog Mix

From Ashley: Cujo is a Beagle Shetland Sheepdog mix. Cujo is all play and no bite. He has Anxiety and is obsessed with my boyfriend (his “Daddy”) and greets him after he pulls in from work.

He has the tracking ability of the Beagle with the hyperness & bark of the Sheltie. He looks like a Long haired Beagle. I got him at 2 yrs old, so don’t know when his puppyhood was like. He is a shelter survivor before the woman we got him from got him. He loves everything, dogs, cats, people & kids. He plays with cats.

Remy the Catahoula Leopard Dog Australian Shepherd Mix

Catahoula Leopard Dog Australian Shepherd Mix picture

Catahoula Leopard Dog Australian Shepherd Mix

From Sunny: Remy is a Catahoula Leopard Dog Australian Shepherd mix. His dad was a Catahoula, and his mom was an Aussie. Despite the double merle parentage and the worrying amount of white in his coat, he is neither blind nor deaf; though, we’d still obviously love him if he was.

He was using a bell to go outside at 8 weeks and is the example dog in class. He’s incredibly smart. He’s also very stubborn. He loves meeting new people to an almost frustrating level. He will run at anyone new just to rub on their legs (almost like a cat) and roll over on top of their feet for belly rubs.

Despite both breeds being generally good with the water, he hasn’t shown any fondness of it yet. He definitely herds and loves chasing any and everyone.

He was around 6 lbs at 6 weeks, 10 lbs at 8 weeks, and 13-14 lbs at 11 weeks.

Gracie – Australian Cattle Dog Pug Mix

Australian Cattle Dog Pug Mix picture

Australian Cattle Dog Pug Mix

From Lori – Gracie is an Australian Cattle Dog Pug mix. Gracie is 75% Australian Cattle Dog, and 25% Pug. It’s an odd combination, but produced what looks like a little ACD wearing eye makeup!

She’s only 30 lbs., which makes her a great size for travel…car rides are her second favorite thing! Rolling in dead things and herding are both tied for first place. She is very quick, and agile..a great little herder. She even herds children! She’s smart as a whip, and as loyal as the day is long. She’s my little Velcro dog.

Sasha the Beagle German Shepherd Mix

Beagle German Shepherd Mix

Beagle German Shepherd Mix

From Markus: We adopted Sasha one month ago. She was picked up as a stray. Her body, including coat, is most likely German Shepherd. Her muzzle is very Beagle-like. It also would explain her size, which is smaller than a German Shepherd Dog.

She is very sweet and loving. She loves to play with our Miniature Schnauzer. While she is calm assertive, when they play fight, she frequently lies flat on her back to let her smaller sized brother gain the advantage.

Rusty the Australian Cattle Dog American Pit Bull Terrier Mix

Australian Cattle Dog American Pit Bull Terrier Mix

Australian Cattle Dog American Pit Bull Terrier Mix

Rusty is an Australian Cattle Dog American Pit Bull Terrier mix. We have had Rusty for a little over a week, rescued from our county shelter where he was surrendered. We were told he is an Australian Cattle Dog mix, which you can see from his red heeler merle. We believe he is also Pit Bull or similar Molosser dog. He is estimated at 9 mo. old. Energetic, athletic, sweet, obedient. Loud noises startle him. He plays for hours on end with our very energetic 8 mo old JRT.

His body is mostly redish brown with some black hairs mixed in particularly on his tail. The white and red merle extends from the left side of his head to his neck and chest and down his right front leg, plus all four paws. Body is long and lean, head is large for body, flopped ears and amber eyes. We did consider catahula leopard dog, but the merle isn’t right.

Bluetick Coonhound Lab Mix

Bluetick Coonhound Lab Mix

BlueDog is Bluetick Coonhound Labrador Retriever mix. He has a friendly expression, ears like a Lab, and loose skin like a Hound. BlueDog is good around people and Dogs. He loves to follow his nose and bark at raccoons. He cannot swim so he dislikes water.

BlueDog can be quite vocal especially now because of his old age. When he was younger he loved to play with anything soft that he found and toss it in the air. He has more than one kind of bark, especially when he smells a raccoon or bear.

From Amanda: Barry is a Pomeranian Terrier mix.  He has Big eared, long legged, big toothed, curly tailed Dog. He`s stubborn, shy, territorial, and isn’t too good with big Dogs. Barry also loves to hunt, run, and play.

He loves to jump and put his paws into water. Barry also loves walks but when not on them he often prefers to be alone or be outside. Despite being mixed with Pomeranian he isn’t really like a family Dog. Barry isn’t a fan of children or strangers.

From Annika: My dog is a Siberian Husky and a Newfoundland mix. Marley is only 9 months old but is a big dog, he looks more like a Siberian husky. people also ask if hes a German Shepherd and he’s not even close to that breed.

He is a very kind and high energetic kind of dog and is very lovable to everyone. This dog also loves to eat anything so that’s the most annoying part about him, because he eats mostly our shoes, and has eaten one of our chairs. but we still love him so much.

Gus the Corgi Wheaten Terrier Mix

Corgi Wheaten Terrier Mix

Wheaten Terrier Corgi Mix

From Reni:Gus is a 25 lb Wheaton terrier and corgi cross, possibly some other mix in as well.  We brought him home after watching him with his mother and sibling for 2 weeks. His mother was a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and dad Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier mix.

This guy bonded with our family, in particularly me, as soon as he arrived. Gus is very affectionate, can be a little shy but will play till he drops once he is familiar with you or other dogs.

Great guy, would try and find similar mix if we ever get another dog.

From Sally: Rex was hit by a car and tossed to the shelter where he healed without medical help. His bother was also with him how was deaf. Everyone thought Rex was deaf too. however it turns out he hears fine, he just didn’t know what to pay attention to.

He as the beautiful red healer dots, pink belly of a boxer, uses his front paws for EVERYTHING. Very loving and hard-headed dog. He loves to lean on you. he is the best cuddling 50 lb dog ever!

From Karla: According to Susie’s DNA, she is a French Bulldog/Toy Fox Terrier/Chi (French Taco Terrier). She is very energetic and clever. Although energetic, she also enjoys lounging around and was easy to train.

Her skull is Chi-like but she has extremely long back legs and a Frenchie’s shoulders, with those adorable ears that you can see in the picture. She is a rescued and we know nothing about her family – hence the DNA test.
